Deepen your Soundpainting practice: five focused days to expand your vocabulary, sharpen your composing, and certify at Level 2—capped with a public performance.
Format & Faculty
Mon–Wed (Feb 23–25): Advanced training with Claude Whipple — fast L1 refresh, then L2 language skills, advanced composition concepts and ensemble work.
Thu–Fri (Feb 26 – 27): Certification weekend with Walter Thompson and François Jeanneau — coaching, Level 2 assessment, and a public showing on Friday evening.
What you’ll work on (L2 skillset)
L1 refresh at tempo: syntax, vocabulary, posture, and general clarity.
L2 music signs (Workbook 2 focus): drilled in isolation, then in real ensemble pieces.
Compositional form: realtime decisions to serve the general form of a piece.
Staying present: remaining open to whatever comes and making it yours. Not dropping the ball.
Assessment focuses on
Syntax accuracy • clarity while composing • listening & adaptation • form over 8–12 minutes • ensemble balance & musical result.
Who it’s for (prereq)
Performers/educators who are L1 certified or have equivalent experience and are comfortable with the Level 1 vocabulary.

Dates: Mon-Fri, February 23–27, 2026, from 10AM to 5PM with a 1h lunch break.
