Open meeting to practice live composition through Soundpainting.

The day is aimed at artists from all disciplines: music · voice · dance · theater · visual arts

For people who already use the language of Soundpainting, as well as for those who want to approach real-time composition, directed improvisation and interdisciplinary creation for the first time.

PROGRAM

10:00 – 11:15 INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOP

Session to refresh signs and syntax for those who already know the language, and also to have a first contact with the basic tools of Soundpainting before the jam.

11:30 – 13:30 INTERDISCIPLINARY JAM

Open practical session where everyone can participate as a performer, soundpainter and/or spectator.

13:30 – 14:00 HANG & TALK

Informal space to share projects, ideas, experiences and continue to build a community around Soundpainting.

Fueled by audience memories, photos, and stories, Strike Anywhere’s multitalented ensemble creates subtle, nuanced compositions that span a wide range of genres. These improvised performance pieces are sculpted through Soundpainting, the universal sign-language for live composition. Strike Anywhere is the preeminent Soundpainting ensemble in the U.S. and has performed and taught in over 200 venues in 16 states and 8 countries.
