PECES VOLADORES
PERU (Lima)
LEADER: Gabriel Vargas
DISCIPLINE: Music / Dance / Theatre / Visual arts
Peces Voladores (Flying Fishes) is an up-and-coming Soundpainting ensemble from Peru, founded in 2025 and directed by Gabriel Vargas. We have a focus on interdisciplinary creation and conceptual Soundpainting, developing works based around central concepts and ideas. The ensemble is composed by artist from different disciplines (classical and popular musicians, physical actors, poets, collage and performance artists, etc.) in order to compose polystilystical works.
Gabriel is a musician, playwright and soundpainter, trained in classical composition at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. He has studied Soundpainting with Mario Gaviria, as a performer and soundpainter. He is currently developing his thesis on Soundpainting as a tool for musical composition.
Peces Voladores debuted with SUMERGIA, a creation dedicated to the sea, which used peruvian poems as the basis for the Soundpaintings. Peces Voladores is always looking for new members, as well as collaborators from various disciplines.
