RECAP: Flying Fishtank #2

On April 13, 2025, the Soundpainting Community came together once again for Flying Fishtank #2, our quarterly online gathering. Participants from across the globe met to share ideas, strengthen ties, and push forward new initiatives for the future of Soundpainting.

Here’s a snapshot of what we explored together:

  • Workgroups were launched to focus on essential community needs:

    • Website funding (to cover and sustain the costs of our website)

    • Social media support (boosting our visibility and reach)

    • General community organizing and outreach

  • Education discussions began, with plans for a dedicated education-focused Zoom meeting and Telegram chat.

  • International collaborations were considered, including Creative Europe and Erasmus project opportunities.

  • New networking tools like Telegram were introduced, opening spaces for topic-specific discussions (education, funding, geeking, etc.)

Special moments included rich discussions about rebellion in Soundpainting, reflections on using the language for young learners, and the importance of developing extended techniques for string players.

Flying Fishtank is about more than projects—it’s about building community, one conversation at a time.

📅 Save the date:

The next Flying Fishtank (#3) will take place on Sunday, June 22, 2025.

We’ll check in on the progress of the workgroups, share new ideas, and continue growing together.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, spoke up, and stepped forward.

We’re stronger because of you!

Stay Wrong & Strong,

The Soundpainting Community Team
